Keeping The Spirit Alive 2013
- Friday, 11 October 2013
Well it is now the beginning of October, and the show has been and gone. What a success, so many happy people in Newbiggin Village Hall on September 21st.
There were 20 stands and 5 talks/workshops and not forgetting the superb Community Café Team with their delicious homemade cakes.
The event was attended by a wonderful crowd of people who had looked out the event and wanted to be there. They came from as far afield as Inverness and Somerset and all across Cumbria and into the Scottish borders.
The workshops we had were by the attending stallholders. Ged – The storytelling artist kicked off the day, making his debut and lots of laughter. Amanda The Angel Mystic gave her talk on manifesting with Angels and as always it was well attended and received. Amanda’s stall was another that was consistently busy, she was giving readings Amanda was followed by the delightful Raye Bower, whose talk was entitled “My Crystals and other family”. Raye has many years experience working with crystals and other energies.
It was another packed out space. Raye also does psychic drawings and artwork, Reiki and so much more and had lived and worked in Cumbria for over 20 years. The next talk was by the serene Marina Ramsden on her bespoke massages utilising tree essences. This is her unique approach, and for millennia mankind has honoured different trees at various times of the year. The final workshop of the day was by Pamela Weedon, who let everyone get down and let out their inner artist. It was full. So much so there is a full one day workshop on October 25, see Pamela’s Facebook page for details. The Arbonne Row as I called it where having a busy time with facials, massages and Bowen Technique demo’s and talking about Arbonne. The ladies were Liz Blythe, Clare Harris Lynn Kelso and Hazel Bell.
They all work in and around Penrith, Carlisle and Ullswater. Catherine Hunt from The Relaxation Room was kept occupied with reflexology and seated massage. There were some very blissed out people at the end of the room. Pauline Richards, of Wishing Well Therapies had some wonderful candles and rooms sprays on offer long with the Foot Detox – never has mucky water been so fascinating… Peter Bennett , The Penrith based Chiropractor was in attendance. He was explaining spine health amongst other things and introducing his Life coaching. Ruth Abblett was there with Fairy Special clothing and the Cuddle therapy baby dolls. How can we forget Hamish and Fiona Murray with their crystal stall – a stall that was difficult to walk by for 2 reasons – the constant stream of customers and the variety and quality of crystals for sale.
Liz Irvine was ear candeling her way through customers and Chris Langham was introducing Cranio sacral therapy to us. I saw first-hand some of the result from both therapists – AMAZING. Euphoria Cumbria were there with their gifts and therapies too and having spoken with Colette I know they were kept busy. In the centre of the hall were 3 readers – Amanda who we have talked about, Rosemary Harrison a Tarot reader from south Cumbria, she also had a wonderful array of oils for sale and lastly the amazing Ron, the Mystic – Big Ron was kept busy all day with his amazing readings – something you never forget.
Paul Bryant and his team were offering healing for donations and then lastly but not forgotten was Mary Johnston from Maryport with Theta healing and mediumship.
As I finish writing this I have just taken a call from a competition winner saying what a fabulous day it was are we running it again the answer is a big yes September 20th 2014.. this time with soup too.
