The Spirit of Cumbria and Beyond

Wow the Easter weekend for The Spirit of Cumbria event was amazing. The run up to it disappeared into a blur of preparation, then actual event itself. I met some lovely, genuine people and was part of a wonderful web of positive energy that now extends out of the hub that is Rheged.

The two day event will be held again over the Easter weekend in 2014, building on the success of this year’s event. There were stall holders from all over the UK. From Brighton, Newlyn, Harrogate, Wrexham, Windermere, Aberfoyle and of course Penrith. From all corners England, Wales and Scotland. The range of treatments and readings was wide. Palmists, astrology, Tarot and Angel card readings. Pyshcic artists, face readers, herbalists. Specialist clothing, smudge sticks, crystals and Angels. For children there was a treasure hunt and face painting and fairies (real ones). The building was buzzing.

Iwas there reading and mapping Auras and I had some hand painted silk Chakra scarves for sale too. I was promoting my business in my local area as Penrith is special to me.

I met friends old and new. Geriant from Fairyland Aromatics I have known since I was a rep in the motorcycle industry back in 1996. Gearge Fryer who I met om a woderful course run by Barbara Meiklejohn- Free last March and an old friend from the days I raced sidecars, came up from Hailfax to see what it was all about. Rosi, came from Lanarkshire to give me a hand on the stall and learned an "awfi" lot over the weekend. Along with Morag of Gaia dance and the lovely Jane Swales who organise the Reiki Awareness days in Bowness on Windermere. Of cousre Raye Bower, my mentor , teacher and friend was up from Wrexham with crystals and pictures.

Later on Sunday when everyone had packed up and gone home, my partner and I went for a meal at The George and Dragon in Clifton, whilst outside, we turned to face Rheged and the was a beautiful rainbow coming out from the top of the building. It was magical. This is the start of a yearly event to be held a Rheged. Next year the dates are April 19th and 20th with workshops on Monday April 21st.
